Childhood and family
In Lithuania, in the small town of Ramigala, on December 18, 1947, Kalmanovich Shabtai was born. Several generations of his ancestors lived in this city. Immediately after the army, Kalmanovich was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army. Upon his return, he immediately plunged into another life, the Soviet period ended.
Israeli period
In 1971, the Kalmanovich family finally received permission to travel to Israel. Upon arrival, Shabtai went to Hebrew courses, at the end of which he immediately got a good job at the Propaganda Center, he was supposed to help visitors from the USSR.
Kalmanovich Shabtai Genrikhovich, whose photo soon began to flicker in reports from big concerts, successfully combined work for the government with entrepreneurial activity. He became a producer, helped Soviet artists organize tours in Israel and the West. But this did not last long, the government invited him to choose between service and business, he chose the second. Jail
In 1987, Kalmanovich Shabtai Genrikhovich, whose family adapted quite successfully to new life in Israel, was arrested. Different sources describe this event in different ways. The most popular version says that he was accused of espionage in favor of the USSR. He was offered cooperation with the investigation, and as a result Kalmanovich received a sentence of 9 years, instead of threatening 11. Business in Russia
After the liberation, Kalmanovich Shabtai arrives in Russia, huge opportunities for making money open up here. First, he, together with I. Kobzon, opens a production center. He organized concerts of M. Jackson, L. Minelli, T. Jones in Moscow. And then Kalmanovich actively invests in a variety of areas: construction, pharmaceuticals, trade. Murder
November 2, 2009 Kalmanovich Shabtai Genrikhovich was brutally shot in his own car in the very center of the capital of Russia. 18 bullets were found in his body. A seriously injured driver tried to catch the criminals by car, but could not cope with the car.
There are several versions of the causes of the murder, and all of them are related to Kalmanovich’s entrepreneurial activity.
