Any army begins with discipline and order. In their support, not only the management team, but also every soldier takes part. The success of any exercises and military operations that require maximum commitment from their participants, the ability to work in a team, and timely and clearly execute commands and orders depends on this. There are many military units: division, battalion, company, detachment, battery, platoon, regiment, squadron and others. This article will talk about the duties of a regiment duty officer. During the day spent at this post, you have to control a lot: both household issues and the behavior of junior employees, the organization of celebrations, the timely transfer of necessary information.

What is a regiment?

As mentioned above, this is one of the units of the army. For many people, the name military unit is more familiar. It is part of the navy and ground forces. Participates in all military operations both independently and jointly with other units. The first regiments in Russia appeared in the 10-12 centuries, their number and number for each principality was different, in most cases no more than 5, in each of which 200-250 people. The most honorable of the regiments was Moscow, where the best wars from all cities were selected. Commanders were appointed at meetings. In the mid-17th century, the Russian army was modernized as a result of which the number of soldiers in the regiment increased to 1800; these units in the fleet appeared in the era of Peter 1. Currently, the regiment is commanded by officers. In addition to the main chief, the commanding staff also includes his deputies, who are responsible for organizational issues in educational work, physical and combat training of soldiers, armament of the regiment and daily activities.

Shelf on duty - who is it?

Shelf on duty

Maintenance of order and discipline is necessary daily. Commanders and their deputies cannot always fulfill this duty fully, because they often have many important tasks outside the military unit. In this case, an assistant is required, a person who will be inseparably in the unit throughout the day and keep under control the execution of all everyday tasks - the duty officer on the shelf. To do this, appoint officers who throughout the service have distinguished themselves by an impeccable reputation, who are able to set the right example for soldiers, make quick and informed decisions in the event of any emergency situations. This is important, because even the slightest frivolity can lead to serious problems up to criminal liability. In any military unit, the duties of the duty officer on the regiment are numerous, therefore, each of them must be told separately.

Interruption on duty on the shelf and the end of the shift

How does the performance of the duties of a duty on the shelf begin? The internal service charter states that you must first have the necessary information. Before taking up duty, the officer comes to the head of the military unit to receive the necessary instruction. After that, together with the previous officer on duty, the number of soldiers and weapons, documents and records in the report book, the serviceability of all technical devices, including warning devices and chemical protection, are checked. Before the end of the shift, the officer on duty is obliged to warn his successor of all the malfunctions that could not be eliminated during the day, the number of new arrivals and departures of soldiers arrested, being on guardhouse, etc. After that, both duty officers must report to the chief, only then the stage of transfer and reception of the post is completed and a new daily shift begins.
