What is an OPS at Russian Post?

Surely you have heard the abbreviation OPS, if you witnessed discussions of working moments between employees. So what is an OPS at Russian Post?

Everything is very simple. The abbreviation OPS stands for "Post Office." It is used mainly by employees, as it is inconvenient to pronounce the full phrase to compile reports and fill out documentation.

Class OPS

OPS in rural areas

OPS are divided into classes. Which class a particular department depends on the number of people it serves and the size of the service area. In total there are 5 classes of OPS on the "Post of Russia":

  1. 5 and 4 classes. Usually they are combined, since the difference between them is small. These are Russian Post offices, located mainly in a small rural area. The staff of such departments is small - as a rule, it is 1-3 operators, a chief and several postmen.
  2. 3rd grade. The most common. It includes the OPS "Russian Post" located in residential areas of cities - so to speak, "yard" OPS. The staff is average. There are branches divided into two departments: insurance and CVPP. In the insurance department, pensions are issued, money transfers are received and sent, letters and parcels are received, and also issued. In CVPC, employees work only with parcels, small packages and EMS items.
  3. 2nd grade. These are large offices open seven days a week, but not around the clock. They are duty departments. The staff is more advanced.
  4. 1 class. Sorting shops and round-the-clock OPS belong to the 1st class. Their work is never interrupted, they have no days off. Even on New Year's Eve, these OPS continue their work. The number of operating windows reaches twenty, the staff is huge. Sorting shops are hidden from customers, they do not deal with public services. Their task is to send incoming mail from all over the nearest region to different parts of the world. It is also impossible to call there - only the leadership of the Russian Post in the region has a direct connection with these OPS.
